Catherine Tinsley

Cathy brings a keen awareness of international education to the ASSIST Board, thanks to her years living in the Netherlands and to her own experience studying abroad. For many years, she chaired the Washington ASSIST Chapter and currently leads the 50th Anniversary Task Force. She is an ex officio member of the Campaign Steering Committee and serves on the Development and Alumni Relations Committee.

Cathy graduated from Earlham College. As a student, she participated in the Experiment in International Living Program, an experience which impacted her with a desire to stay involved in the field of international education. Cathy led the Parent’s Association at Washington International School, where her youngest child was a student, and she served as a member of the ASSIST Steering Committee during that time.

Today, Cathy lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband, Tom. She chairs the LearnServe International program.
