Med fokus p\u00e5 social ulighed i forbindelse med klimaforandringer planl\u00e6gger Gust\u0117 at gennemf\u00f8re to forskellige masterprogrammer p\u00e5 to \u00e5r p\u00e5 University of Oxford. Hvad ang\u00e5r muligheden for at studere p\u00e5 et af de mest fremtr\u00e6dende forskningsuniversiteter i verden, understregede Gust\u0117, at hun bestemt ikke har glemt \u00f8jeblikkets betydning - og at hun ikke engang havde forventet at blive valgt. \"Der er ingen valgkreds i Litauen og ingen enkelt valgkreds i Europa,\" sagde hun. \"Jeg vidste, at det ville v\u00e6re vidunderligt at komme til Oxford, og denne valgkreds er den eneste, der tillader folk, der ikke er statsborgere. Ud over f\u00f8lelsen af ekstrem taknemmelighed n\u00e6vnte Gust\u0117, at hun i starten f\u00f8lte sig skyldig i at modtage en s\u00e5dan \u00e6re som international studerende, men samtidig stolt over at repr\u00e6sentere NYUAD. P\u00e5 trods af dette n\u00e6vnte hun, at hun er vokset enormt i processen. \"Jeg f\u00f8ler mig virkelig taknemmelig og ansvarlig, og p\u00e5 mange m\u00e5der f\u00f8ler jeg, at jeg er<\/em> repr\u00e6sentativt for NYUAD, fordi det er s\u00e5 mangfoldigt,\" siger hun. \"Man m\u00f8der sj\u00e6ldent to mennesker fra samme sted.\" Om sin tid og erfaring p\u00e5 NYUAD sagde hun: \"Det har v\u00e6ret en virkelig intens v\u00e6kstoplevelse. Jeg f\u00f8ler, at jeg er modnet p\u00e5 grund af det internationale aspekt, der er folk fra s\u00e5 mange forskellige lande, og det har v\u00e6ret s\u00e5 befriende og sp\u00e6ndende. N\u00e5r Gust\u0117 t\u00e6nker tilbage p\u00e5 de tidligere stadier af sin akademiske rejse og forl\u00f8berne for hendes nuv\u00e6rende succes, husker hun med gl\u00e6de sin studietid p\u00e5 The Lawrenceville School i Lawrenceville, New Jersey i 2016-17 gennem ASSIST. Hun opdagede ASSIST gennem sine kammerater p\u00e5 gymnasiet, som hvert \u00e5r sender en elev p\u00e5 studieophold i udlandet, sponsoreret af The Kazickas Family Foundation. \"Pensummet og undervisningsstilen derhjemme er meget anderledes,\" siger hun, \"mens Lawrenceville er en rundbordsdiskussion, hvor 'sandheden' er objektiv, og det var meget sp\u00e6ndende. Jeg tror, jeg blev meget mere intellektuel bagefter. Hun fortalte ogs\u00e5, at Lawrenceville var et helt nyt socialt milj\u00f8, som hjalp med at udvikle karakteren og f\u00f8ltes som et f\u00e6llesskab. \"Det var interessant for mig at komme til et sted med mere mangfoldighed - og det var ikke super<\/em> forskelligt - men det var f\u00f8rste gang, jeg oplevede flere mennesker med forskellige baggrunde, og det var endnu en ydmyg oplevelse, som fik mig til at t\u00e6nke over ting, jeg normalt ikke t\u00e6nkte over derhjemme,\" bem\u00e6rkede hun. \"Socialt er det et meget anderledes rum at v\u00e6re p\u00e5 en skole, der er et f\u00e6llesskab. Jeg var kostelev, s\u00e5 jeg var der hele tiden. Man g\u00e5r i klasse med de samme mennesker, dyrker sport sammen, spiser sammen, studerer sammen osv.\" <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"F\u00f8r ASSIST var jeg involveret i kunst, i dans, hvilket virkelig opbyggede min nysgerrighed og min karakter,\" sagde Gust\u0117. \"Jeg var vant til at blive anerkendt i mit lokalsamfund for det, jeg lavede inden for kunst som dans og poesi, men det her var min allerf\u00f8rste oplevelse af at blive anerkendt for det, jeg lavede uden for lokalsamfundet. Og det var som om, at andre mennesker, der ikke er i dette rum, kan se v\u00e6rdien i det, jeg g\u00f8r. Den tillid inspirerede mig til at begynde at g\u00f8re flere ting, der ligger uden for min komfortzone. Og det er noget, jeg har gjort lige siden ASSIST.\"

Til alle, der overvejer at s\u00f8ge Rhodes-stipendiet, giver Gust\u0117 f\u00f8lgende r\u00e5d: Tag dig tid til at meditere over alt, og nyd processen. Hun siger: \"I finalen var det en meget intens proces. Det var en fantastisk mulighed for at komme i kontakt med andre.
