Peters Leidenschaft ist es, jungen Menschen die M\u00f6glichkeit zu geben, in andere Kulturen einzutauchen. Seine globalen Erfahrungen, seine Leidenschaft f\u00fcr Sch\u00fcler und seine Erfahrung im Bildungsbereich machen ihn zu einem gesch\u00e4tzten Mitglied des ASSIST-Vorstands. Peter erhielt 1980 einen B.A. in Englisch vom Middlebury College, gefolgt von einem M.A. in Englischer Literatur von Middlebury im Jahr 1986. Nachdem er auf dem College Tennis gespielt hatte, nahm er 1984 an der Satellite Tennis Tour teil. Danach ging er an die Taft School in Watertown, CT, wo er als Englischlehrer, Tennistrainer, Squashtrainer, Zulassungsbeauftragter, Kommunikationsdirektor und zuletzt als Zulassungsdirektor t\u00e4tig war. Er war jahrelang Mitglied des Kuratoriums der Litchfield Montessori School, wo er stellvertretender Vorsitzender des Gremiums war.
