Director of Scholar Recruitment & Family Relations

Simone Oliver, ASSIST Country Coordinator in Germany

Simone Oliver has been a member of the ASSIST team in Germany since July 2012. After completing her master’s degree in German studies, social sciences, and business administration, she moved to the USA for family reasons in 1996, where she worked in various areas of conference management, marketing, and fundraising. In 2006, after ten years in the USA and Canada, she and her family returned to Germany, near Düsseldorf. In her position, Simone Oliver supports applicants and their parents from the initial contact and accompanies them through the application and selection process, through to placement at their US schools and the departure for their year abroad. She is also the contact person for the families during the year abroad. Having seen how much her own children benefited from living in two cultures, she has long been fascinated by the topic of student exchange. That’s why she works with enthusiasm and great motivation for ASSIST Scholars, an organization that gives students the unique opportunity to have diverse, life-changing experiences in another culture during a year abroad at one of the best schools in the USA.
