However, current U.S. government policy restricts the issuance of student and exchange visas for nationals of the following countries:<\/p>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Afghanistan<\/li>\n<li>Angola<\/li>\n<li>Antigua and Barbuda<\/li>\n<li>Benin<\/li>\n<li>Burkina Faso<\/li>\n<li>Burma (Myanmar)<\/li>\n<li>Burundi<\/li>\n<li>Chad<\/li>\n<li>C\u00f4te d&#8217;Ivoire<\/li>\n<li>Cuba<\/li>\n<li>Dominica<\/li>\n<li>Equatorial Guinea<\/li>\n<li>Eritrea<\/li>\n<li>Gabon<\/li>\n<li>The Gambia<\/li>\n<li>Haiti<\/li>\n<li>Iran<\/li>\n<li>Laos<\/li>\n<li>Libya<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Malawi<\/li>\n<li>Mali<\/li>\n<li>Mauritania<\/li>\n<li>Niger<\/li>\n<li>Nigeria<\/li>\n<li>Republic of the Congo<\/li>\n<li>Senegal<\/li>\n<li>Sierra Leone<\/li>\n<li>Somalia<\/li>\n<li>South Sudan<\/li>\n<li>Sudan<\/li>\n<li>Syria<\/li>\n<li>Tanzania<\/li>\n<li>Togo<\/li>\n<li>Tonga<\/li>\n<li>Venezuela<\/li>\n<li>Yemen<\/li>\n<li>Zambia<\/li>\n<li>Zimbabwe<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t<p>Restrictions also apply to individuals traveling on Palestinian Authority-issued documents.<\/p>\n<p>Because these policies are outside ASSIST&#8217;s control and may change, students from affected countries should check the latest U.S. Department of State guidance before applying. Interested students should work with Dr. Nidal A. Ahmed<br \/>\nIBDP Coordinator and College Advisor at Ramallah Friends School, on steps for applying for this ASSIST Scholarship.\n<p>Please note that students placed by ASSIST at Ramallah Friends School are exempt from our program fee.<\/p>\n<p>To be considered, students must speak with Dr. Ahmed and once approved to apply, submit the <strong>ASSIST application no later than January 4<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tApplicants from Pharo School and Abaarso School of Science &#038; Technology in Somaliland\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>ASSIST Scholars is proud to partner with two of the finest schools in Somaliland, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pharofoundation.org\/pharo-schools\/somaliland-schools\">Pharo School<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abaarsoschool.org\/\">Abaarso School of Science &amp; Technology<\/a>, to place their strongest students for one year on scholarship at ASSIST Member Schools. Please note that Pharo and Abaarso students who receive ASSIST scholarships are exempt from our program fee.<\/p>\n<p>Interested students should first review their citizenship status and current U.S. visa and immigration policies, as outlined above. For Lindfors Scholars, member schools fund at least 50% of its tuition, the remaining school tuition and ASSIST program fee is included in The Lindfors Scholarship program fee.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tScholarships from Our Partners, Available Through ASSIST\t<\/h2>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\">The Davis Scholarship Program<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Davis Scholarship Program is unique in that it allows students to study for two or three years at one of the six boarding schools that are part of the Davis International Scholars Program. Davis Scholars graduate with an American high school diploma and may go on to study at a college or university in the U.S. or the U.K.<\/p>\n<p>Davis Scholars receive:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$25,000 from The Davis Scholars Program towards tuition annually for their boarding school years. Depending on a family&#8217;s financial need, the school may provide a scholarship for the remainder of tuition, room and board.<\/li>\n<li>$25,000 towards tuition annually for four years of undergraduate work, if accepted to one of the UWC partner universities and colleges<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Candidates from countries that are historically underrepresented at US boarding schools are welcome to apply. These include but are not limited to Bulgaria, Colombia, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Somaliland, Turkey or Southern African countries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.assistscholars.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/DAVIS-SCHOLARS-PROFILE-FY26-.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/assistscholars.org\/assets\/pdfs\/2c965a9c-dcf8-49c3-be80-52def48a232d-DavisProgramAttatchment.pdf\">Read specifics on this partner program available through the ASSIST application.<\/a><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<a role=\"heading\" aria-level=\"2\" tabindex=\"-1\"  id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\">The Kemper Scholar Program (Phillips Academy Andover)<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<button type=\"button\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/button>\n\t\t\t\t\t<p>Students who are awarded the Kemper Scholarship earn the opportunity to study for one year at Phillips Academy Andover, a boarding school in Andover, Massachusetts, as a 12th grade or post-graduate student. Students typically attend Phillips Academy the year after completing high school in their home country.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students are awarded financial assistance sufficient to meet 100% of a family&#8217;s full financial need to study for one year at Phillips Academy Andover. Applicants will be required to complete a financial aid application.<\/p>\n<p>Candidate eligibility requirements include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be a European citizen<\/li>\n<li>Not typically older than 18<\/li>\n<li>Must be eligible to participate as a 12th grade or post-graduate student of Phillips Academy<\/li>\n<li>Must be qualified to obtain a Phillips Academy diploma after successful completion of the academic year<\/li>\n<li>Must NOT have previously studied in an English-speaking country for a semester or more<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Upon completion of their year at Phillips Academy Andover, students must return to their home country for at least one year. For this reason, Kemper Scholars are not able to work with Phillips Academy Andover&#8217;s college counselors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.assistscholars.org\/ka\/assist_kemper-scholars-program-at-phillips-academy-andover-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/assistscholars.org\/assets\/pdfs\/9d45a338-f33f-4a94-a357-44fffc110ecb-website%2520pdf%2520of%2520kemper.pdf&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1707768448622000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1uqy1bpGqbqNCC74vqM_m3\">Read specifics on this partner program available through the ASSIST application.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\t\tApplication Process for 2027\/28 Scholarships\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>We are primarily seeking students for placement in <b>U.S. Grades 10 and 11<\/b>. We also have a limited number of opportunities for exceptionally strong applicants interested in <b>Grade 12 or postgraduate <\/b>positions.<\/p>\n<p>The application opens annually in July. Follow the steps below to apply:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Complete the online <b>application <\/b>and submit a copy of your <b>academic transcript <\/b>via the <a href=\"https:\/\/assistscholars.fsenrollment.com\/users\/sign_in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ASSIST application portal<\/a> by <b>December 1<\/b>. A $35 U.S. application fee is required to submit your application. Shortly after, we will review all submissions and inform candidates who will advance to the next step.<\/li>\n<li>Those asked to advance will be required to submit <b>three teacher recommendations, informal photos and a short personal introduction video, and a brief statement from a parent or guardian <\/b>in the same <a href=\"https:\/\/assistscholars.fsenrollment.com\/users\/sign_in\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">application portal<\/a>. Additionally, if your first language is not English, you will be invited to take the <b>Duolingo English Test. <\/b>These materials are needed as soon as possible, but no later than <b>December 21.\u00a0 <\/b>We will use these materials to determine our <b>Scholarship Finalists<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Scholarship Finalists will be invited to an <b>interview <\/b>with members of the ASSIST U.S. team in <b>January<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Finalists will be <b>notified <\/b>of the outcome in
