Robert Fleishman, Treasurer

Bob’s impressive resume in the financial and legal fields makes him the ideal treasurer and member of the ASSIST Board of Directors. A member of the Executive Committee and the Compensation Subcommittee, and chair of the Finance Committee, Bob’s active involvement in ASSIST has been crucial to developing our fiscal responsibility and ongoing growth.

Bob began his career teaching at St. Ann’s School in New York. There, he developed a passion for the independent school model, leading eventually to board service at the Maret School and the Washington International School, where he served as chair. After attending law school, he went on to serve as a trial attorney for the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Competition, and moved on to work as Attorney Advisor to Commissioner Elizabeth Dole. For many years, he served as a partner at Steptoe and Johnson in Washington, D.C., and in Brussels.

Today, Bob lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, Anne. Bob’s international experience adds flavor and perspective to his ongoing work with ASSIST.
