Peter tog en B.A. i engelska fr\u00e5n Middlebury College 1980, f\u00f6ljt av en M.A. i engelsk litteratur fr\u00e5n Middlebury 1986. Efter att ha spelat tennis under hela sin collegeutbildning deltog han 1984 i t\u00e4vlingar p\u00e5 Satellite Tennis Tour. Han fortsatte sedan till Taft School i Watertown, CT, d\u00e4r han har arbetat som engelskl\u00e4rare, tennistr\u00e4nare, squashtr\u00e4nare, antagningsansvarig, kommunikationsdirekt\u00f6r och senast som Director of Admission. Han var under flera \u00e5r ledamot av Litchfield Montessori Schools styrelse, d\u00e4r han var vice ordf\u00f6rande.
