International Scholarships for Students from Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway
ASSIST connects exceptional Nordic students with top private high schools in North America through competitive, international, one-year scholarships. Our Swedish-based Program Coordinator guides families from Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway through the application and interview process, and later serves as a valuable guide as they are expertly placed at a member school. ASSIST's global team also offers comprehensive cultural preparation and support throughout the student's exchange year.

Ansökningsprocess för 2026/27 års stipendier
Vi söker i första hand studenter för placering i USA Årskurs 10 och 11. Vi har också ett begränsat antal möjligheter för exceptionellt starka sökande som är intresserade av 12:e klass eller forskarutbildning positioner.
Ansökan för läsåret 2026-27 är öppen. Följ stegen nedan för att ansöka:
- Fyll i onlineformuläret Ansökan och skicka in en kopia av din akademiskt utdrag via ASSIST-ansökningsportal av 1 december. En ansökningsavgift på $35 USD krävs för att skicka in din ansökan. Inom kort kommer vi att gå igenom alla ansökningar och informera de kandidater som går vidare till nästa steg.
- De som ombeds att gå vidare kommer att behöva lämna in tre lärarrekommendationer, informella foton och en kort redogörelse från en förälder eller vårdnadshavare i samma ansökningsportal. Om ditt förstaspråk inte är engelska kommer du dessutom att bli inbjuden att göra Duolingo engelska test. Dessa material behövs så snart som möjligt, men senast Den 21 december. Vi kommer att använda dessa material för att fastställa våra Stipendiefinalister
- Stipendiefinalisterna kommer att bjudas in till ett intervju med medlemmar av ASSIST U.S.-teamet i Januari
- Finalisterna kommer att vara anmäld av utfallet i Februari.
Interviews and English Language Testing
Scholarship Finalists will be invited to an interview and asked to complete a Duolingo English Test.
The Duolingo English Test costs $70 USD and must be completed by December 1.
Interviews for Scandinavian candidates will be held in January. A team from the U.S. will interview students in small groups. The interview is fairly informal and is a chance for us to get to know applicants better and help find the right school for each.

ASSIST Scholarships
Varje ASSIST-stipendiat får ett stipendium för sitt år utomlands. Detta stipendium ger varje elev tillgång till en ledande privat amerikansk high school. Empowering Nordic Students Since 1970
Our work in Sweden began in 1970. Since then, many talented Nordic students have distinguished themselves at American private high schools, benefiting from the opportunities provided through our program.
Hittills har över 6.300 akademiker från över 62 länder genomfört detta omvälvande utbytesår i Nordamerika och anslutit sig till vårt globala alumninätverk.
Purposes of the Scholarships
These scholarships are offered for several important purposes. First, the student gains tremendously and grows in significant ways. Second, we believe that international peace and friendship are advanced when people from different cultures spend significant amounts of time living and learning with one another. Third, the presence of international
students greatly enriches the American schools in which they study.
For these reasons, all scholarships offered are for one year. At the conclusion of the 2026/27 academic year, all students must return to Sweden to complete their secondary education, or to apply to university (with an exception for students placed as 12th grade or postgraduate students). We hope over the following years that you will share what you have learned with friends, family, and fellow students.
Further Study
After spending a year at home, candidates may return to the United States for college or university study. A growing number of our students have taken this route and earned generous scholarships. ASSIST and the independent school attended in the U.S. will support the application with recommendations and advice.
