International Scholarships for Colombian Students

ASSIST connects exceptional students from Colombia with top private high schools in North America through competitive, international, one-year scholarships. Currently we work with two outstanding school partners in Bogotá.

Together with our partners, Gimnasio La Montaña and Colegio Hacienda Los Alcaparros, our U.S. team guides Colombian families through the application and interview process, and later will guide Scholarship Winners as they are expertly placed at a member school. ASSIST's global team also offers comprehensive cultural preparation and support throughout the student's exchange year.

ASSIST Scholars from Colombia can turn their scholarship year into a launchpad for university success, career advancement, and lifelong global leadership.

Application Process for 2026/27 Scholarships

We are seeking students for placement in U.S. Grades 10 and 11.

Follow the steps below to apply:

By November 1, register your interest with your school and complete their requirements for ASSIST consideration. Your school will inform you if you will advance to step 2.
Complete the ASSIST online application and submit a copy of your academic transcript via the ASSIST application portal by December 1. A $35 U.S. application fee is required to submit your application.
Submit three teacher recommendations, informal photos, and a short statement from a parent or guardian in the same application portal as soon as possible, but no later than January 15.
Scholarship Finalists will be invited to an interview and, if they are not native English speakers, will be required to take the Duolingo English Test.

Interviews and English Language Testing

Scholarship Finalists will be invited to an interview and asked to complete a Duolingo English Test.

The Duolingo English Test costs $70 USD and must be completed by December 1.

Interviews for Colombian candidates will be held virtually in January. The interview is fairly informal and is a chance for us to get to know applicants better and help find the right school for each.

The Admission Committee makes scholarship decisions in February and will inform every applicant of the outcome.

Scholarships from Our Partners, Available Through ASSIST

The Davis Scholarship Program

ASSIST is proud to partner with The Davis Scholarship Program. Applicants can apply though ASSIST and be considered for ASSIST, Davis and Kemper scholarships - all through one ASSIST application.

The Davis Scholarship Program is unique in that it allows students to study for two or three years at one of the six boarding schools that are part of the Davis International Scholars Program. Davis Scholars graduate with an American high school diploma and may go on to study at a college or university in the U.S. or the U.K.

Davis Scholars receive:

$25,000 from The Davis Scholars Program towards tuition annually for their boarding school years. Depending on a family's financial need, the school will provide a scholarship for the remainder of tuition, room and board.
$25,000 towards tuition annually for four years of undergraduate work, if accepted to one of the UWC partner universities and colleges

Candidates from countries that are historically underrepresented in U.S. boarding schools are welcome to apply. This includes Colombia.

Our work in Colombia has just begun. Our first Scholars from Colombia are in the Class of '26. To date, over 6,300 scholars from over 80 countries have completed this transformative exchange year in North America and joined our global alumni network.
