Scholarship Program

Why ASSIST?

Studying abroad, being immersed in American culture, and attending an elite private high school is not the average student experience – but ASSIST Scholars are far from average.

ASSIST matches exceptional international students from across the globe with leading American day and boarding private high schools, all on scholarship.

Often our member schools have spectacular, university-like campuses, rigorous academics and extracurriculars to help students explore wide-ranging interests.

Because our member schools and partners are so dedicated to our mission, each and every ASSIST Scholar receives a scholarship for their year abroad.

ASSIST Is Known For:

  • The best schools in the U.S.: ASSIST’s private high schools are much like universities. You can expect small, student-centered classes, beautiful campuses, and vibrant extracurriculars.
  • Unparalleled quality: We are the gold standard in study abroad. Our robust orientation and dedicated team ensure our Scholars are prepared and supported throughout their experience.
  • A global network for success: Scholars join a network of 6,000 alumni, many of whom are accomplished, leaders in their fields.
  • Expert matching: ASSIST’s decades of expertise means that we know where scholars will thrive in a way that families often cannot determine on their own through school websites.
  • Education with purpose: Our work is mission-driven, not profit-driven. Our mission is to create a worldwide network of leaders for a more peaceful world.
  • 55 Years of Experience: In 1969, ASSIST was a pioneer in international student exchange. 55 years later, ASSIST is well-known for bringing the world's best high school students to America's top private high schools.
  • Comprehensive Orientation: Before each year abroad begins, all ASSIST Scholars take part in a late summer, multi-day orientation program. Students arrive to the U.S. well-prepared and form close bonds with other ASSIST Scholars.

Scholarships Overview

Those who are named ASSIST Scholars receive a one-year scholarship from a leading private high school in the United States. This transformative opportunity opens doors and minds for life-long successes. Students from all countries (except the U.S.) are invited to apply.

A key aspect of the ASSIST experience is the match between Scholar and school. This is where our experience sets us apart. For this reason, candidates are not able to select a particular school, geographic region, or type of school (boarding or day). Students may express preferences, but the decision on each final match lies with our schools and ASSIST.

ASSIST provides a range of financial assistance, along with personalized support and a lifelong network that’s central to the ASSIST experience. In addition to ASSIST's own scholarships, we also offer access to scholarships through our partners, The Davis Scholars Program and Kemper Scholars at Phillips Academy — Andover. Applicants can be considered for all three programs via one ASSIST application. You can see details for all scholarships available below.

All applicants must complete the ASSIST application by their country's deadline. You can read more about the requirements on our ASSIST in Your Country pages. If ASSIST does not have an office in your country, you are still welcome to apply. Learn more here.
